Graduating, Moving, & Still Learning.
I graduated from college...& now I'm moving on to the next chapter of my life (okay, sorry in advance because I feel like this post is going to be full of cliches). I am starting to write this the day after graduation, and I am sitting here reflecting on the past & the exciting future! For those of you who don't know, I graduated from Liberty University with a degree in Strategic Communications & a minor in Psychology. So in a nutshell, I spent the last four years in Lynchburg, Virginia learning all about consumer behavior, marketing, design, & decision making.
This past semester was maybe one of the hardest for me. Other than getting engaged (read our posts here & here), I struggled to write my honors thesis, got in a rough car accident, & had to make some big decisions about my future.
I had to learn to rely on the Lord even more than I ever had. He told me to be patient (which is a virtue that I strive more for every day), to listen, and to just rest.
I am graduating without job & I am going home to move in with my parents. The pride in me wants to delete that sentence & just say that I am moving to Pennsylvania deceive the truth that I am moving back into my parents home. Because in my mind, successful college graduates do not move home. But, I truly know that God wants this to be my plan. I have been waiting for a full time position to sift through the applications. If I do not get the full time position, I will work as a contract worker for a few brands to make up a full work week.
We are getting married April 21, 2018, & after our wedding, we are most likely moving to a different state. So, moving to PA for 11 months is a great amount of time to reconnect with so many friends & family at home. Plus, I have a wedding to plan!
Connor will be in North Carolina working for a baseball team all summer, then he will finish his undergraduate career at Liberty in the fall. His plans for the beginning of 2018 remain unknown. All I know is that he’s going to show up on April 21 from wherever he is, then we can be together for the rest of our lives!
Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone. // Psalm 33:22
I know that God has given me these 11 months to lean into Him & to rest. I have been working so hard for the past 22 years of my life (yes, it was hard to be a baby). This is the chance that God is telling me to rest & to prepare for the future.
With that said, I am very excited for what is to come! I am going to be blogging a lot more & I even have some fun guest posts planned! So keep active on here and on my social media to get updates on what is going on. If you want to be a part of my email list to be the first to hear announcements, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
